So, you think all cartoonists sit at their drafting table out of harm's way. Not this one. I was right in the middle of it today, folks. I was in Lawrencville watching the faceoff between riot police and the Pittsburgh G-20 Resistance Project. The police came out in unbelievable force wearing riot gear and holding batons and shields and they even had dogs.

The police were also were driving the biggest beast of an armored vehicle I had ever seen. It made a Hummer look like a toy car. Didn't they get the word that this is a Green Summit? Mounted on top was a large device resembling a hollywood spotlight. This was some sort of sonic agitator that blasted a shrill, deafening noise that caused protesters to hold their ears. It was really annoying. I guess that was the idea. Anyway, there were a hundred media and onlookers to every two protesters. The only people being forced away were journalists. At one point a large group of onlookers started chanting "Let's Go Pens!" It was almost as loud and annoying as the sonic weapon.
