ART, SCIENCE & HISTORY

Though Pittsburgh may be well-known for its history in steel, the city's many museums and exhibitions spotlight both its contemporary and historic sides.

From the famous dinosaur exhibit at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History to modern art exhibitions at the Mattress Factory, these cultural places of interest showcase all pieces of the region's rich tapestry of history and transformation.

With stories of their own -- the Carnegie Museums were founded by Pittsburgh steel baron Andrew Carnegie while the Frick Art & Historical Center includes the home of industrialist Henry Clay Frick -- the museums themselves may be as fascinating as their contents.
